As the leading supplier of the world's best musical instrument brands, Rockshop and KBB Music are at the heart of the music scene here in New Zealand. Supplying, inspiring and educating both amateurs and professionals across all genres of the music spectrum.

The Challenge

The project was initiated in the run-up to the discontinuation of Magento 1, after reviewing many agencies and platforms Limesharp and Adobe (Magento) Commerce were chosen to create the digital flagship store for Rockshop and KBB Music.

Our portfolio of Headless eCommerce sites and focus on design were a good fit for Rockshop, coupled with Adobe Commerce as the perfect fit to manage both B2C and B2B stores from one admin panel which features a two-way integration with their ERP.

Strategy and Approach

For this project, we immersed ourselves into the world of bedroom musicians all the way up to professionals and the different needs and behaviors when buying instruments and equipment. Our Brand 360 discovery process includes workshops to extract customer insights and pain points, as well as a thorough analysis of Rockshop's operations and existing business systems.

Results

The new digital flagship store has had a significant impact on Rockshop's business, both in terms of sales and customer experience. The project objectives have been achieved; visual decluttering, improved site speed, elevated mobile experience, driving customers into the store via a stock checking system, communicating additional services such as repairs and an easy-to-use product discovery via search and filtering system.
